Kingscliff Superstars vs Tweed Coast TIgers

What a fantastic start it was on Sunday for the dolphin's superstars. It was an 8 o’clock start down at Barry Shepherd oval against the Tweed Coast Tigers on Mother’s Day. We had a great turn out with 14 superstars coming to play. Everyone was very excited to get out there and have some fun, especially with having the actual goal posts at one end. The Tigers only had the six players, and it was awesome to see our little superstars put their hands up to turn their jumpers inside out and play with the tigers.

It was great to all the kids out there running around kicking some goals and having a blast. We had 3 McDonald’s vouchers to give away on Sunday, and they went to Harley, Xavier and Max well done guys. Also just wanted to say a big shout out to all the parents for their help on Sunday. It great to see you get involved and a huge help, so keep it up. We are back at home this Sunday at 8 am against the tigers again, so it will be great to see all the superstars there again having some fun. Also, we will have training on Thursday from 4 pm to 5 pm. Hope to see you all there.

Go the Dolphins,
Luke

Kingscliff Under 8 Red vs Ballina Bombers

Wow! This weeks game was a tough one with the Ballina Bombers challenging our Red dolphins but the little Dolphins turned up to perform for Mothers Day. All players tagged, chased and looked for their team mates for support. Great to see team mates improving their hand passes each week. A special mention to Banjo, who was awarded 'Player of the Week' for encouraging team mates, helping direct others on the field and for his overall great performance. Well done Dolphins!

We look forward to Round 4 at our home ground in Kingscliff on Sunday, warm up at 8.30, ready to charge at 9am. We also welcome Kyle as our Assistant Coach and we look forward to seeing you at training.

Cheers,
Jason

Kingscliff Under 8 Blue vs Tweed Coast Tigers

Last week saw the mighty Kingscliff Dolphins U8 Blues take on the Tweed Coast Tigers at Round Mountain Oval, Cabarita.
A special thanks to all the wonderful mum’s for sacrificing their “Mothers Day" sleep-in last Sunday to support the team. I hope you had a lovely day!

Despite some slippery / muddy conditions, the U8 Blues came out of the gates in hot form. Early goals from Archie, Jack and Javier set the tone for the rest of the game. The Tweed Coast Tigers fielded a young team and despite trying their best, the Dolphins were too strong on the day.

Lenny lead from the front all day with his outstanding attack on the footy and selfless sharing of the ball. This resulted in him being awarded “Player of the Match” for round 3. Special shout out goes to Logan and Tilly for kicking their first goals for the season. Great job guys!

The “Moment of the Match" belonged to our little sharp shooter Jack Van Velzen. I loved seeing his enthusiasm up front and I couldn’t help but laugh when watching him wait for his mum (Stacey) to get the camera ready before taking a shot on goal. BTW, I was told by our lethal “Jack & Jack” combo that they both kicked 7 goals each…. But hey, who's counting anyway haha.

This week we return home to Merv Edwards Field to play the Ballina Bombers. I look forward to see you all at training this Thursday night.

Go Dolphins!
Ben & Mark

Kingscliff Under 10 Blue vs Tweed Coast Tigers

The blue team are really starting to get some structure in their game now. Confidence is growing each week and the boys are really starting to understand their role In the team.
We came up against The Tweed Tigers who already have a strong club foundation and are always competitive. Our boys showed a good solid match up and you could say the game was a very close match up.

Again, the other U10 red boys came over to help our numbers and without a doubt, Luca was our player of the week. From the first whistle to the last , he kept our defence in check and fought out a good solid game. It was his day to be getting a goal and also taking home the Mothers Day raffle. Nice work Luca. See you all next week after we go down to battle it out with Brunswick Bulldogs.

Cheers,
Simon and Andrew

Kingscliff Under 10 Red vs Brunswick Valley Bulldogs

Round 3 held a special occasion, it was Mother’s Day and we all know our biggest fans as kids were our mums. The weather was perfect for footy, and the Under 10 Red’s we’re versing the Brunswick Valley Bulldogs. Unfortunately the Bulldogs only had 7 players so some of the Kingscliff 10’s Blues were available to help them out. Early on we noticed an impact from all the kids. Kai, Beau, Archie, Saxon and Tommy all getting their hands on the ball early, and laying some solid tackles. Ball usage was looking cleaner, and our boys brought their ‘A-Game’ for their Mums.

Bodhi moved in to the midfield in the 2nd quarter and seemed very comfortable with the ball around him. He put in a very exciting performance which earned him ‘player of the week’. Notable performances from Billy and Jack also. Some really impressive efforts from all the boys and we are already noticing improvements. Repetition is key so we want to encourage them to get the footy in their hands as much as they can outside of games/training.

This week we take on the Byron Magpies at 11am on Sunday down in Byron. Please remember to let us know early if you cannot make it, and please be at the ground in Byron at 10:30am.

Cheers,
Coaches Ben and Dave
